Our Curriculum

THE CURRICULUM

The overall aims of the setting are to encourage children to think for themselves, to be independent learners, adaptable, to have inquiring minds

and a tolerance for others.  Each child is recognised as an individual who shares common characteristics with other children, but also has his/her own

individual needs, interests, strengths and difficulties.

Therefore the curriculum offers provisions for different starting points from which children develop learning, building on what they can already do.

The activities are relevant with appropriate content that matches the different levels of young children’s needs.

All activities are purposely planned to provide opportunities for teaching and learning, both indoors and outdoors.

Children do not make a distinction between ‘play’ and ‘work’ and neither will the staff.

The Revised Early Years Foundation Stage is used in planning.
